The provincial government of Sarangani through Gov. Steve Solon and Vice Gov. Jingkee Pacquiao donated P1.5 million for the completion of the construction of the AlSci covered court.
The school PTA has initially raised funds for the construction of the stage and concrete foundations for the covered court.
The additional fund will be used for the steel trusses, roofing, and flooring.
“Hindi kami magsasawang tumulong. (We will not get tired of helping) It is our goal to serve and not to be served,” Pacquiao said.
Gov. Solon reminded the crowd that his grandfather, the late Cong. James L. Chiongbian, authored the creation of the school. Hence, his desire to support the school.
Solon also pledged to support the speech laboratory project of the school, while Pacquiao said that she will use her connections to improve the science laboratories.
“I am happy to know that you are already competing internationally. Hindi lang pala tayo sa boxing pang-international, pati pala sa science. (So we are not only internationally-competitive in boxing, but in science as well),” Pacquiao added.
Furthermore, Solon said that he knew why AlSci is successful. He said, “It’s the family spirit that I can see clearly in you.”
