With an overall rating of 95% Alabel National Science High School topped the Brigada Eskwela 2017 Best Implementing schools, medium category.

The search for the best Brigada Eskwela implementer is held to encourage schools to strengthen their implementation of the Brigada Eskwela (National Schools Maintenance Week) by involving the community as partners in preparing the school for the opening of class and by conducting innovative activities to encourage support for school improvement.

This year AlSci was able to raise a total of Php 6,127,836.00 in resources, more than six times bigger than last year’s Php 1.2 million. The bulk of this resources came from the covered walkway and waiting shed project of the provincial local government of Sarangani, which has a total amount of Php 5 million, expected to be completed this year.

AlSci has also almost tripled the number of participating volunteers to 2,294 volunteers this year coming from various sectors including, LGUs, NGAs, NGOs, private individuals, among others.

Schools were categorized into small, medium, large, and mega categories based on the number of teachers in a school and AlSci was classified as a medium school.

Secondary Category:
Malandag National HS (Large)
Alabel National HS (Mega)

Winners received a trophy, Php 4,000.00 cash from Sarangani LGU and Php 3,000.00 from DepEd Sarangani. They were awarded during the 24th Founding Anniversary of DepEd Division of Sarangani on August 10, 2017 at Lagao Gymnasium, General Santos City.

On August 17 validators from DepEd Region XII will visit the school to see if the winning schools in Sarangani can be the region’s representatives in the national awarding.
